ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Laura Wells, I’m a science communicator, presenter, environmental advocate, model and social media professional from Sydney. The epitome of modern day slashie job title!

For the past 14 years, since graduating with Biology and Law degrees, I’ve built a wealth of experience in the science media space and have become a regular and trusted presenter for national and international programs, campaigns and events.

I have presented science content for National Geographic, hosted a children’s science TV show on Channel 7, and am currently filming a sustainability series called “Planet Shapers”, just to name a few.

I sit on the National board of directors for Surfrider Foundation Australia and am an ambassador, presenter and content creator for NGOs like Greenpeace, MSC, WWF and the IPCC. I have travelled the world researching, documenting and presenting environmental advocacy and citizen science projects, presented at conferences and festivals, and have been a successful international curvy model for the last 16 years.

Synonymous with my work as a presenter and social media professional, is my work in advocacy.

I am an advocate for diversity in many fields, from women in STEM and body positivity to sustainability, environmental protections and media inclusivity.

Working as a ‘curve’ model has given me great appreciation for the impact inclusion has on individuals and communities and I will continue to promote diversity in all spaces.
